Privacy Policy

Commercial Break Club is an iPhone app made by The Dyslexia Code, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.

Information that stays on your phone

These are saved only on your iPhone. We never see them, and they're erased if you delete the app:

• The first name or nickname you type on the Welcome screen.
• Your workout history (which breaks and Special Features you did, and when), your days on air, and your awards.
• Your settings, like reminders, sounds and music.
• The Fan Mail notes you applauded, reported, or people you blocked.
• Share card pictures. They're made on your phone and only leave it if you choose to share them.

Information the Club receives

To show real numbers like "47 women moved today" and to run Fan Mail, the app uses Google Firebase (a service from Google) to store a small amount of information:

An anonymous ID

When you first open the app, Firebase gives your copy of the app a random ID. It isn't connected to your name, email, or Apple ID. It lets the app count you once per break and know which Fan Mail notes are yours.

Your daily check-ins

For each day: which of the three breaks you did, your Special Feature minutes and the length of your latest one, and when that record was last updated. These are added together with everyone else's to make the Club's counts.

Fan Mail (only if you choose to post)

• The Fan Mail name you choose, your note (up to 140 characters), which show it's for, and the date and time.
• How many applause (👏) and reports a note has. Each applause and report is stored with the anonymous ID of the person who gave it, so no one can applaud or report the same note twice.
• Fan Mail notes and Fan Mail names are visible to other Club members. Notes show in the app on the day they're posted.

App security checks

The app uses Firebase App Check with Apple's App Attest to confirm that requests come from the real Commercial Break Club app on a real iPhone. This helps protect the Club from fake apps and spam. It doesn't give us your personal information.

Reminders

Break reminders and the 3:30 Fan Mail note are scheduled on your iPhone. They don't come from our servers, and you can turn them off anytime in the app's Remote Control or in iPhone Settings.

How we use information

• To count how many women moved during each break and how many rolled a Special Feature.
• To show Fan Mail, applause, and reports.
• To keep the Club safe: reviewing reported notes, hiding or removing notes that break the Fan Mail house rules, and stopping an anonymous ID from posting if needed.
• To protect the app from abuse.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who else handles it

Your Club information is stored by Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) in the United States. Apple helps with App Attest. These companies handle it on our behalf to run the app. We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep daily check-ins and Fan Mail records so the Club's numbers and moderation work, and we may delete older records from time to time. Notes that break the house rules may be hidden or deleted. You can delete your Club data anytime (see Your choices below). Everything saved only on your phone is erased when you delete the app.

Your choices

• Don't post: Fan Mail is optional. You can use the whole app without posting a note.
• Turn off reminders: in the Remote Control or iPhone Settings.
• Delete your Club data, right in the app: open the Remote Control (the little remote on the Home screen), go to Your Club data, and tap Delete my Club data. This erases your daily check-in records, your Fan Mail notes, your applause and reports, and your anonymous ID from the Club. Your workouts and awards saved on your phone stay. If you keep using the app afterward, you'll be counted with a brand-new anonymous ID.
• Or ask us: email danielle.pettifor@gmail.com with "Delete my Club data" in the subject. Because we don't know who you are, please include your Fan Mail name and roughly when you posted, so we can find your notes. We'll reply within 30 days.
• Delete the app: this erases everything stored on your phone.

Age

Commercial Break Club is for adults 18 and over. It isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has posted in Fan Mail, please email us and we'll remove it.

Your health

The app counts which breaks you did. It doesn't read Apple Health or collect medical information. Please check with your doctor before starting any exercise program.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is a big one, we'll also let you know in the app.
